Tuileries Polo
Let's get your summer knitting started! The Tuileries Polo pattern from Soumine KIM is a top down, dropped shoulder top with an all over eyelet pattern. The open stitch adds interest to a traditionally sporty design. This is a good class to explore summer yarn options if you don't typically knit summer items. Cotton merino, cashmere silk, cotton/silk/linen/alpaca are all fiber blends that would be great for this summer knit pullover.
Class Schedule:
- 5/11: Measure gauge swatch, calculate size, and cast on. Discuss chart reading. Start working upper back.
- 5/25: Begin the right front. Learn buttonhole technique.
- 6/1: Begin the left front.
- 6/8: Join the right and left upper fronts, button bands, and back to begin working the body in the round. Discuss hem ribbing and learn Ruke (sewn) bind off.
- 6/22: Pick up stitches along the neckline and begin polo collar. Learn welt stitch.
- 6/29: Pick up stitches along the armhole and begin sleeves using German Short rows.
