Pelica Vest

The Pelica from Rosa Pomar is a classic, but polished vest for adventurous beginners/intermediate knitters to take their finishing skills to the next level. It's knit entirely in garter stitch with a contiguous i-cord edge. In this five session class, you will learn all about i-cords, shoulder shaping, and buttonholes. The perfect piece to add to your fall wardrobe!

Class Schedule:

  • 10/15: Measure gauge swatch, calculate size, and cast on. Start working i-cord edges and shoulder shaping of upper back.
  • 10/22: Begin the right front.
  • 10/29: Begin the left front.
  • 11/5: Join front and back pieces to begin working the body back and forth in one piece.
  • 11/12: Discuss body length, learn bind-off with applied i-cord, and grafting six remaining stitches together.
Class Notes: The beginning of the right front and left front are very technical in nature so attention to detail is a must--Karen will guide you through each step. Afterwards, the rest is smooth sailing! The amount of time to complete the vest will be dependent on the size knitted and time you devote to knitting each day/week.
