Bobbles Three Ways
Bobbles! They're so hip, they're so fun, but they can sometimes be a pain. There are so many different ways to make bobbles and one of these techniques will sing to you. You'll be able to bust any bobble pattern in no time! In this two-part class (June 4 & 18), we'll be making the adorable Purl Soho sheep pillow. On June 4, we'll learn how to make bobbles three different ways (and learn a provisional cast on). You'll have two weeks to finish the body of the sheep pillow, and then on June 18, we'll learn how to pick up stitches and knit the ears! (And graft, if you need a refresher.)
Materials:
- Purl Soho Bobble Sheep Pillow (it's free) in either of these sizes: (super bulky knit on US 11 OR aran/chunky knit on US 9)
- Needles and yarn for your chosen pillow size (see each pattern for details) AND crochet hook in corresponding size (for super bulky, a 6.5-8mm crochet hook; for aran/chunky pillow, a 5-5.5mm crochet hook). I would not recommend the Crazy Sexy Wool for this pattern—too bulky!
- For provisional cast on, barber cords OR crochet hook and scrap yarn
Homework: None for 6/4. For 6/18, complete the body of the sheep but stop before "Make head + ears" (if you already know how to graft) or before grafting the back of the sheep (if you don't).
